7. The Curse Of Love * * * *Dafür, dass du ansonsten eher sparsam mit Sternen umgehst, ist diese Wertung aber gigantisch und m.E. viel zu hoch. Die Neue habe ich übrigens und nach einmaligem Hören bin ich mir noch nicht sicher wo die Reise hinführt. Auf jeden Fall sind die beiden von dir empfohlenen Titel mit die Besten.

Gewinnen ist nicht alles, gewinnen ist das einzige.The Coral haben wie nur wenige Bands bei mir einen dicken Stein im Brett. Trotz der großen 90er-Britpop-Welle, hat kaum eine andere Band mein „Sixties-Pop für die Gegenwart“-Gefühl so entscheidend geprägt. Sobald ich ihre Musik höre, ist das wie eine hochpersönliche Einladung zu einer wunderbaren Zeitreise. Mit anderen Worten: They can do no wrong!
Dennoch konkret zu „The Curse Of Love“: der geduckte, verwunschene Ton auf dieser LP kann doch nicht mit läppischen * * * abgespeist werden, so eine rührende Melodie wie im Mittelteil von „You Closed The Door“ ist zu kostbar und beileibe keine Ausnahme, auch wenn das Album nicht sehr von einzelnen Songs lebt.
