Green on Red – Tracks

Wie angekündigt starte ich morgen abend das Green on Red-Tracks-Turnier.

Modus: Es treten insgesamt 97 Tracks an. In der Vorrunde werden zehn Gruppen gebildet: sieben Gruppen à 10 Tracks und drei Gruppen à 9 Tracks. Es werden aus jeder Gruppe die vier Tracks mit den meisten Stimmen weiterkommen. In der Zwischenrunde geht’s dann weiter mit acht Gruppen à 5 Tracks, von denen sich jeweils die zwei Tracks mit den meisten Stimmen für das Achtelfinale qualifizieren. Danach geht es dann im KO-Modus weiter in vier Runden bis hin zum Finale Grandioso.
Die Vorrunde lasse ich drei Tage laufen, da ja vielleicht einige Platten und Tracks für eine endgültige Einschätzung nochmals gehört werden müssen. Danach dann jeweils idealerweise zwei Tage pro Runde (können aber – abhängig davon, wie ich beruflich unterwegs sein werde – im Einzelfall auch mal drei Tage werden).

Bei Stimmengleichheit entscheidet a) meine eigene Stimme, b) das Los.

Ich werde in der Umfrage hinter den Tracks jeweils den Hinweis auf das Album, die EP, die 12“ oder die 7“ vermerken, von der der jeweilige Track stammt.

Leid ab gehen mir die beiden Tracks „We had it all“ und „Rainy days and mondays“, die aufgrund der Vorgaben außen vor sind. Insgesamt halte ich sie beide für sehr gut und sie wären wohl in einem Green on Red-Track-Ranking bei mir beide Top 20.

Da sich auf meine erste derartige Ankündigung hin niemand gemeldet hatte, dachte ich, das geht OK.
Habe sie aus „Vereinfachungsgründen“ herausgenommen. Hätte ich sie dringelassen, hätte ich mich auch bemühen müssen, die Covers auf verschiedenen 7“ und 12“ mit reinzunehmen, wozu mir dann doch etwas die Detailkenntnisse gefehlt haben.

Für mich ist das so absolut in Ordnung. Die Turnierleitung gibt die Spielregeln vor. Ich wollte diese beiden gelungenen Cover einfach noch mal erwähnen. Für einen Podestplatz wären sie bei mir allerdings auch nicht in Frage gekommen. Alles gut!

Noch ein paar Anmerkungen zu den Ergebnissen der Vorrunde:

Von 13 Mitspielern wurden insgesamt 340 Stimmen vergeben, die sich wie folgt verteilen:

Den Stimmenkönig „Scapegoats“ hätte ich dabei so nicht erwartet, während man „Gas Food Lodging“ und „Here Come the Snakes“ sicher vorne erwarten konnte; sehr gut auch das Ergebnis von „No Free Lunch“ (hier muß man berücksichtigen, daß diese EP natürlich weniger Tracks enthält). Für „Gravity Talks“ und „The Killer inside Me“ hätte ich dann doch etwas mehr Zuspruch erwartet. Fast erwartungsgemäß das schlechte Abschneiden von „Two Bibles“ und „Green on Red“.

Bei den Tracks kristallisieren sich nach der Vorrunde folgende Favoriten heraus:

„Little Things in Life“ an der Spitze werte ich als Überraschung, während ich das gute Abschneiden von „Two Lovers (Waitin‘ to Die)“ und „Sixteen Ways“ erwartet hatte. Zwar für die Zwischenrunde qualifiziert, aber schlechter als von mir erwartet abgeschnitten haben „That’s What Dreams“, „Hair of the Dog“, „Time Ain’t Nothing“, „Clarkesville“ und „Hector’s Out“, für die ich mehr Stimmen erwartet hätte.
In der Zwischenrunde kann das durch die Gruppenzusammensetzung natürlich schon wieder ganz anders aussehen.
Persönlich bedauere ich das Ausscheiden von „Cheap Wine“ und „Don’t Shine Your Light on Me“ und insbesondere von „Hold the Line“ und „Baby Loves Her Gun“, die ich zu meinen TOP 20 zählen würde.

So langsam wird’s echt übel. Paarung 4 z.B. ist eine höllische Entscheidung.
