Das wohl erste Rock-Debüt überhaupt in Form eines Doppelalbums, eingespielt in vier Tagen im März 1966.
Zappa war sofort voll da. Es gibt nichts darauf, das sich nicht vollwertig und repräsentativ in seine vielzitierte „conceptual continuity“ einfügen ließe: Sein monströs breit gefächerter und sehr eigenbrödlerisch gestalteter Stil-Eklektizismus, die parodistisch-verfremdende Grundhaltung, Ernsthaftigkeit und Nonsens im freien Mit- und Gegeneinander, improvisierte Gitarrensolos neben aufwändigen und mitunter penibel montierten Kompositionsstrukturen. Und Suzy Creamcheese – auch Teil dieser konzeptionellen Kontinuität. Sie trifft man dann noch höchstpersönlich auf Nachfolgealben wieder.

Qualitativ für mich gleich das beste Album der ersten sechs Jahre und damit auch für diese Zeit mein klarer Einsteigertipp. Zappa war ein Senkrechtstarter.
