onkel-tomEin ähnliches Problem habe ich z.B. auch mit der Kopfstimme von Bon Iver.

Diese Problematik hat sich bei mir bisher nicht ergeben, da ich nichts von Bon Iver kenne. Aber Justin Vernon hat einen kleinen vokalistischen Einsatz auf The Staves‘ „Make It Holy“, zudem hat er die dazugehörige LP „If I Was“ produziert.

Schöne, interessante Liste!

Mir stellt sich aber die Frage, warum Du nur ein Album von Element of Crime gelistet hast und dann gerade „Romantik“ statt „Mittelpunkt der Welt“, das doch oftmals mehr geschätzt wird?

Bezogen auf die Noughties, in denen nur drei EoC-Alben erschienen, ist „Romantik“ (* * * * 1/2) das ergreifendste und musikalisch markanteste.

Seit „Mittelpunkt Der Welt“ (* * * 1/2) sind der Band kaum noch überraschende Songs gelungen, auch harmonisch bewegt sich das für mich nur in Nuancen. Um ein schlimmes Bild zu wählen: Stagnation auf anständigem Niveau. Richtig gut fand ich nur „Straßenbahn Des Todes“, „Wenn Der Winter Kommt“ und „Finger Weg Von Meiner Paranoia“. Nichts davon erreicht trotzdem den Schmerz von „Fallende Blätter“ und „Wann Kommt Der Wind“.

„Love Is Hell“ hinter „Demolition“: gewagt!

Bin mit „Love Is Hell“ nie so warm geworden – hab sie auch nur in der Version der 2 extended EP’s.

Beide **** bei mir, aber „Demolition“ habe ich viel öfter gehört. Verbinde damit aber auch die  Erinnerung einer Fahrt von Chicago nach Detroit in den aufziehenden Morgen – mit „Demolition“ als einzigem Tonträger in Dauerrotation. So entstehen persönliche Vorlieben.

Ich glaube die mögen uns nicht mehr nach der Tour durch Süd(?-)Deutschland in den 90ern… da gab’s wohl mehr Bergziegen als Mountain-Goats-Fans. Aber in Hamburg haben sie danach auch noch mal gespielt; wohl gar nicht so lange her.

Würde mich reizen, die mal zu sehen; auch wenn mir ihre letzten relativ aufwändig produzierten Alben deutlich mehr zusagen, als die verschrobenen frühen Platten (die ich nur vereinzelt kenne). Ich behalte Utrecht mal im Hinterkopf.

2013 habe ich sie im Kölner Luxor gesehen – klasse Entertainer mit schönen Ansagen, musikalisch aber reduziert auf Gitarre und Schlagzeug. War ein knapper 90 Minuten-Gig incl. Zugaben.

Da ich Utrecht immer schon sehen wollte, kombiniere ich es mit einem Städtekurztrip.

In diesem Jahrzehnt sind es aktuell 457 Alben, die den Cut geschafft haben, im Vergleich zu 247 Alben in den Sixties, 586 Alben in den Seventies, 272 Alben in den Eighties und 353 Alben in den Nineties. 01. Wow, Du legst ja ein enormes Tempo vor mit den Dekadenlisten. Super, sehr interessant, da ich ja aktuell bis auf Weiteres mit den Nullerjahren beschäftigt bin. Vorsorglich werde ich mir Deine Dekadenlisten noch runterladen. Ich hoffe aber, dass ich mir auch Deine Listen zukünftig weiterhin online anschauen kann.

Dieses Tempo täuscht, da die Listen quasi bis auf letzte Feinjustierungen längst fertig waren.

Morgen kommt noch die letzte komplette Dekade und dann war es das.
