Da war ich viel in kleinen unabhängigen Szenen unterwegs. Britische Neo Psychedelic, aber auch vieles Ami-Zeugs , was man heute lapidar als Indiemusik bezeichnet. Aber ein paar Altgediente sind auch dabei.

Da war ich viel in kleinen unabhängigen Szenen unterwegs. Britische Neo Psychedelic, aber auch vieles Ami-Zeugs , was man heute lapidar als Indiemusik bezeichnet. Aber ein paar Altgediente sind auch dabei.
Zu einer Altgedienten: hab sicher schon mal gefragt, aber hast du Giant Sand „Center of the universe“ damals gehört oder erst später entdeckt? Und wie toll ist denn Chris Cacavas Keyboard auf „Stuck“…meine Güte das haut mich jedes Mal um. Zudem für manchen überraschend, dass Howe auf dem Album genau 1 Gitarre spielt, nämlich ne Halbakustische mit Pickup.

In den 90ern scheinen wir erheblich zu dissentieren. Natürlich auch, was die Quantität angeht. Selber zähle ich für 1992 sieben Volltreffer. Die beiden Zitierten hier darunter. Darüber hinaus sehe ich immerhin noch sechs Alben mit ****-****1/2.

“Automatic“ habe ich seinerzeit abgelehnt, wegen „Direstraitisierung“, sie aber dann später doch noch schätzen gelernt… 😉
