Wo ist hier der Blues? Na ja, im Namen halt. Die 1991 in New York gegründete Band um Leader Jon Spencer dekonstruiert Blues und klingt fies, dreckig und billig. Aus dem Punk der Vorgängerband Pussy Galore ist dieses Trio mit Russell Simmins (dr) und Judah Bauer (g) hervorgegangen. Ein untrüglicher Querverweis zum Blues ist eine Kooperation mit R.L.Burnside von 1996 bei dem Album „Ass pocket full o‘ whiskey“.
