Seine ’96er-Platte, und für mich immer noch seine beste.

Boston Rules: als Backingband die großartigen Come (mit Thalia Zedek und Chris Brokaw) und aufgenommen von Wally Gagel in den Fort Apache-Studios.

Nach dem sehr ruhigen und folkigen Vorgängeralbum „Fluorescent“ ist „Melting in the Dark“ wieder ein grimmiges, feedbackgetränktes Gitarrenfest mit massenhaft großartigen Songs, die Steve Wynn auch heute noch regelmäßig in seinem Live-Repertoire hat.

Da sind bei mir die Alben „Here come the miracles“ deutlich sowie „My midnight“ und „Static transmission“ knapp davor. Aber natürlich unter dem Strich ein gutes, machtvolles Album.
