Eine Enttäuschung fand ich Mingus‘ autobiographischen Roman nun gar nicht … es geht nicht nur um Musik, und wenn, dann v.a. um die frühen Jahre, die in der Uptown-CD dokumentiert sind … aber in vielerlei Hinsicht fand ich das Buch enorm aufschlussreich, auch wenn manches schockiert, abstösst, anwidert, was da erzählt wird. Aber ich möchte es nicht missen!
