zwei schwarz-weiss b-movies:
– panic in year zero ! (usa 1962) **1/2 – ray milland: okayer post-atomschlag-movie, die seitenhiebe auf gewalttätige teenager sind wohl leicht reaktionär… war das die inspiration für den titel der pere ubu-box ?
– machine gun kelly (usa 1958) *** – roger corman: die erste grosse rolle von charles bronson, der hier schon aufzeigt… nicht so historisch akkurat wie cormans zweiter mafia-film: st. valentine’s day massacre, aber trotzdem guter film… die femme fatale susan cabot (und deren familie) ist fast so psychotisch wie die mutter aus raoul walsh’s „white heat“… für bronson-fans gibts am schluas auch noch einen plottwist, der seinem tough guy-image nicht ganz zuträglich ist…
