Hier gibt es ebenfalls eine Version von „Time Was“ zu hören – Capitol Records 1956. Auch hier gibt es eine weitere Verbindung zu Earl Bostic, nur Jackie Davis und Coltrane waren wohl nicht zur selben Zeit in der Band von Bostic. Es wäre auch nicht so wichtig

ich glaube, das ist tatsächlich die 1956er hit-version. von bill miller produziert, es gab eine 7“ vorab (4 stücke, mit „duerme“/“time was“ als opener). und das album verkaufte sich sehr gut:

Finally, in 1956, Capitol Records A&R exec Bill Miller convinced the label to sign Davis to a contract. The first album, Hi-Fi Hammond sold well in white markets, and over the next five years, the label released eight more albums by him. His material was usually light, jazzy interpretations of standards, usually in a small combo setting, just rhythm guitar and drums backing him up.
