Seit „Bone Machine“ zeigt die Formkurve nach unten. Zwar schwach geneigt, aber trotzdem sprübar. Ob's wohl mit der Platte einen Aufschwung gibt? Oder zumindest wieder Mule Variations-Niveau?Da kann ich absolut nicht zustimmen. „Alice“ ist mein liebstes Waits-Album. Und „Blood Money“ bewegt sich auf gleichem Niveau.

TRINKEN WIE GEORGE BEST UND FUSSBALL SPIELEN WIE MARADONASehe es wie Jan. Wobei „Black Rider“ (wenn es als Album zählt) für mich der Tiefpunkt seines gesamten Werkes ist. Und Alice enthält mit „Kommienezuspadt“ immerhin den nervigsten Song.

Jedem das seine. Für mich sind Alice und Blood Money schwache Waits-Alben gemessen an einer Reihe wie Swordfishtrombones, Rain Dogs, Franks Wild Years und Bone Machine.
Oder auch Closing time, The heart of Saturday Night und Nighthawks at the diner. Natürlich sind die Alben immer noch gut, aber halt nicht brilliant!--
