Und klar, es ist zu hoffen, dass die Reihe fortgesetzt wird – klingt allerdings irgendwie nicht danach, wenn sie mal 23 machen und diese dann in Tranchen rausbringen … on verra.

Erroll Garner – The Complete Concert By the Sea
Sony Legacy and Octave Music Publishing Corporation will release Erroll Garner’s The Complete Concert By the Sea as a three-CD box set on September 18, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the original concert.
The complete live concert recording, which Legacy said in a press release was newly uncovered by the Erroll Garner Jazz Project, is being digitally remastered. The project is produced by pianist Geri Allen (who is also the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Pittsburgh) and producer Steve Rosenthal. The box set contains the complete live Concert By the Sea, including 11 previously unreleased tracks, the original edited Columbia release from 1956 and bonus material, including interviews with the Erroll Garner trio: Denzil DaCosta Best, Eddie Calhoun and Garner himself, recorded directly after the concert.
Liner note writers include Allen, UCLA American Studies Professor Robin D.G. Kelley and jazz writer Dan Morgenstern.

Finde das immer etwas nervend, wenn solche Kleinhändler was anreissen und dann nichts folgt … bei Musikern, die sich selbst vermarkten, bin ich toleranter, aber bei welchen, die „nur“ andere verwalten etwas weniger (und dass Laurie veröffentlichte Sessions reinstellt, finde ich etwas überflüssig, auch wenn sie am Tampa-Album nichts verdient haben mag, die meisten von uns werden sich ja doch eher eine CD kaufen, dass der angebotene Download auf der Website viel abwirft, kann ich kaum glauben, streamen kann man das Album ja wohl auch).

„You can purchase Many of Chets recordings produced by ligitamit record labels below.“(Man bekommt generell nicht den Eindruck, dass Baker viel an der Schulbildung seines Nachwuchses lag… auch die Biografie auf der Seite ist lesenswert.)
(Ziemlich witzig ist auch die Liste der Komposition von Chet Baker, die sie da pflegen… ich hab eine Ahnung, wer der wahre Komponist von „Beatrise“ ist… „Amazing Grace“ und „Come all ye faithful“ hmmm… aber was das hier ist, wüsst ich gerne: „ANTHOLOGIE PORNO BENAZ-BG CUES“)
