2020 – Erwartungen und erste Eindrücke

Ja, „Homemade blood“ ist das Highlight. Und ich kenne sie alle.

kinksterWelche würdest du noch von ihm empfehlen?

Ich bin ja ein Fan von „Feast of hearts“. Das Album kommt zu meinem Erstaunen in der Kritik häufig viel zu schlecht weg. Dazu mag ich „The hurting business“ sehr gerne, wobei Prophet bei diesem Album seine Komfortzone, sofern er denn eine hat, am weitesten verlässt. Die Gitarren treten eher ein wenig in den Hintergrund, er arbeitet mit Loops und Samples, die Songs sind mehrheitlich klasse. Von den etwas neueren Alben der letzten Dekade gefällt mir „Night surfer“ am besten. Ein schlechtes Album von Chuck Prophet kenne ich allerdings nicht. Falsch machen kannst Du da also nicht allzu viel. Das neue Album wird im Prophet-Ranking weit vorne landen.

Von den drei Alben seit dem Comeback 2017 würde ich die beiden früheren Alben „How did I find myself here?“ und „These times“ auch dem neuen Album „The universe inside“ vorziehen.

 
Oh, das höre ich gewaltig andersrum. Gerade das psychedelische Element macht „The Universe Inside“ spannend.

Vieles noch ziemlich vorläufig, noch nicht alles (bis auf die Nr. 1) verifiziert.

Nr. 4, 6, 7, 19 möchte ich mir jetzt unbedingt als Nächstes noch vornehmen.
Nr. 9 hat mich etwas enttäuscht, der *Kick* fehlt etwas im Vgl. zu den Alben in den Anfangsjahren.
Nr. 16 hat es also bei Dir noch geschafft, wird bei mir auch ganz knapp werden. Etwas „zwiespältig“ das Album, aber auch mit einigen Stärken.
Nr. 8, 12, 13 u. 17 ist bei mir auch noch einigermaßen im Rennen. Muss diese nochmal in Ruhe hören.

Dool mag sie auch sehr. Seltsam ist nur, dass der beste Track gar nicht auf dem Album ist, sondern auf der Bonusdisc, die es nur in der Buch Edition gibt.

Ein letztes Update zu Beginn des letzten Quartals, bevor es hoffentlich noch eine spannende Jahresendrallye gibt. 48 Alben aus 2020 sind es inzwischen.
