MistadobalinaDanke, ich fand 1989 für mein „Pop-Ohr“ sehr ergiebig, eine Menge ganz feiner Singles.

Ja, ich war überrascht. Die 80s haben keinen wirklich schwachen Jahrgang. Die Entwicklung geht hin zu immer mehr Pop, während die Anfangsjahrgänge noch mehr von Postpunk, New Wave etc. gekennzeichnet war.

Schöne Liste! Nur wegen Debaser: Ich habe die hier als 97er Single stehen. Damals war sie doch keine Single oder irre ich mich?

1989 sind nur „Here comes your man“ und „Monkey gone to heaven“ als Singles veröffentlicht worden.

Ja, „Debaser“ ist eben „in time“ nie als Single veröffentlicht worden, sondern 1997 als Single zum Promoten der Compilation. Insofern kann „Debaser“ hier als Single eigentlich nicht aufgeführt werden. Das gleiche Problem hatten wir 1976 mit der „Wild is the wind“ Single von Bowie, die ebenfalls erst als Compilation Promotion als Single veröffentlicht wurden. Was die beiden Fälle gleich haben: Sie hätten natürlich schon in ihrer Zeit als Singles veröffentlicht werden sollen. „Debaser“ und „Wild is the wind“ sind jeweils die besten Tracks der Artists überhaupt. „Debaser“ wäre damals als Nachfolger für „Monkey“ mit Sicherheit erfolgreicher gewesen als „Here comes your man“, was ich vom Album eher durchschnittllich finde.
