Wow, beeindruckende Sammlung, atom! Die meisten Alben ab * * * * * sind mir zwar bereits bekannt, aber das Inspectah-Deck-Debüt habe ich mir jetzt mal notiert. In der Regel wird es ja nicht gerade in einem Atemzug mit den sonstigen Wu-Klassikern genannt, weshalb mich das Rating umso mehr freut und auch neugierig macht, ist Deck doch einer meiner liebsten MCs vom Clan. Besonders freut mich, dass du mittlerweile auch „Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Part II“ und „Supreme Clientele“ wertschätzt. Welches ist denn dein liebstes Ghostface-Killah-Album? Und: Wo würde sich Cappadonnas „The Pillage“ einordnen? Im Bereich * * *, vermute ich …?

Randle McMurphyBesonders freut mich, dass du mittlerweile auch „Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Part II“ und „Supreme Clientele“ wertschätzt. Welches ist denn dein liebstes Ghostface-Killah-Album? Und: Wo würde sich Cappadonnas „The Pillage“ einordnen? Im Bereich * * *, vermute ich …?

Die beiden erstgenannten Alben haben in den letzten Jahren dazugewonnen. Ich habe sie zum Erscheinungszeitpunkt etwas unterschätzt. Was meine Ghostface Präferenzen betrifft, so liegt bei mir das Debüt vor Fishscale vor Supreme Clientele. Capadonna hat mich nie richtig begeistern können, seinen Erstling habe ich auch ewig nicht gehört, * * * bis * * * 1/2 könnte aber durchaus hinkommen. Jedenfalls ist The Pillage deutlich besser als der wesentlich schwächere Nachfolger.

@atom: „Grandmasters“ läuft bei mir zur Zeit wieder rauf und runter, zwischendurch auch mal „Liquid Swords“ und „Legend of the Liquid Sword“ und seit Veröffentlichung versuch ichs auch regelmäßig mit „Pro Tools“, werde mit dem Album aber absolut nicht warm (was auch daran liegt, dass es teils fürchterlich abgemischt ist). Bewertest du es jetzt, acht Jahre später, immer noch so hoch?

@cleetus: Auch wenn ich einiges darauf wirklich mag, würde ich das Album heute etwas schwächer bewerten. Eine einheitlichere Produktion hätte dem Album gut getan.
