Nachdem Marriott die Small Faces die Band unmittelbar nach einem Gig (und einem seiner Wutausbrüche) verließ, holte man sich Sänger und Bassist der aufgelösten Jeff Beck Group (kein Wutanfall) und ließ das Small hinter sich. Ironischerweise hatte Marriott die relative Erfolglosigkeit der Small Faces über, Humble Pie waren auch nicht die Überflieger, aber die Faces dürften ordentlich Geld gemacht haben.

Hab Steve 3 mal gesehen, darunter sein letztes Konzert. Bei mir im Städtle. Danach war die Tour vorbei und er starb wohl in seinem brennenden Cottage, home, not so sweet home.

Ich hatte ihn tatsächlich 1972 mit seiner Humble Pie auf dem Germersheim Festival gesehen. (British Rock Meeting)
Humble Pie hatten mit Abstand die lauteste Anlage auf der Bühne.
Er war so eine typische Rampensau.
