Und ob das akzeptabel ist, niko. Das ist weit mehr als erwartet, ja sogar hoch erfreulich.

Mr. Soul ist tendenziell ja recht streng, aber mich verwundert die mangelnde Differenzierung (zumindest wird sie für mich nicht erkennbar). Aus teil sehr unterschiedlichen Gründen liebe ich jeden einzelnen Track, auch die scheinbar schwächeren. Manche Songs wie „Last Night I Dreamt…“ gelten doch für Fans und Kritiker als einer der stärksten der Gruppe (ich würde noch mind. „I Won’t Share You“ dazu zählen), da wundert es mich schon, dass Mr.Soul diese nicht besser hört als…sagen wir „Death At One’s Elbow“.

„Death“ ist sicherlich der schwächste * * * *er (allerdings zusammen mit „I Won’t Share You“).

Zudem bin ich der Band einfach (noch) nicht so erlegen wie manch langjähriger „Fan“, der mit diesem oder jenem Track/Album vielleicht eine Menge (emotionaler) Dinge verbindet.
Liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass ich mich erst in den letzten Jahren ausführlicher mit der Gruppe beschäftigt habe, wobei die Sympathien dabei anfangs eher verhalten waren, mit der Zeit gewachsen und mittlerweile eigentlich recht hoch sind. Ist doch auch schon mal was…
