Jetzt schon 62 Jahre Rock 'n' RollGanz eindeutig, ein absolutes Meisterwerk. Kenne z.B. kein Album von Elton John, das annähernd so gut wäre. Glaube sogar, dass in Ihrem Erscheinungsjahr (1977) keine bessere Platte veröffentlicht wurde. Rumours von Fleetwood Mac jedenfalls für mich nicht, vielleicht doch Never Mind the Bullocks? Müsste mir dazu mal wieder beide Platten nacheinander anhören … :lol:

Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to exit the donut!pipe-bowldann musst Du aber noch das ein oder andere Album seiner Frühphase kennenlernen, oder? Z.B. „Madman across the water“. Bei dem Weg ist mein liebstes Joel-Album „Turnstiles“.
„Madman across the water“ kenne ich tatsächlich nicht, aber Tumbleweed Connection, Honky Chateau, Don’t Shoot Me …, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road + Captain Fantastic und alle haben gleichermassen hits wie filler (alle um die ****), „The Stranger“ bis auf den vorletzten Song nur Volltreffer, ein klarer *****er. Danach kommen in der Tat gleich „Turnstiles“ (letztlich auch nur ein Ausfall All You Wanna Do Is Dance) und das Live-Album „Songs in the Attic“ (beide ****1/2), Billys Rest halte ich für schwächer als die obengenannten Elton-Alben.
