Gesamtwertung: ****1/2 (obwohl’s statistisch nicht ganz hinkommt)

Seine 2002er-Solo-Scheibe und für mich seine beste Platte.

Wunderbar instrumentiert mit Pedal Steel, Dobro, ab und zu weht eine Farfisa-Orgel vorbei, unkitschige Streicher, Saxophone, Fender Rhodes, etc.
Trotz dieser Vielfalt klingt die Platte wie aus einem Guß, wie beiläufig hingetupft, und kein bißchen prätentiös.

Highlights: „Storm across the Sea“ mit seinem geilen Gitarrensound und „Summertime Thing“ mit seinem wahnsinnig lässigen Laid-Back-Feeling.

an den richtigen Stücken etwas nachjustiert wirds auch statistisch ne glatte ****1/2 Platte

seit meinem letzten Konzert mit ihm hat die Scheibe bei mir nochmals zugelegt……

Auch hier bin ich von dieser Einordnung weit entfernt. Bei mir auf Platz 12 im Chuck Prophet-Alben-Ranking. Ich höre hier nicht die herausragenden Tracks, aber schon einige gute Titel.
