WerbungDie Platte ist vollumfänglich wundervoll. Sie klingt wie Blur, ohne zu klingen, wie je eine Blur-Platte geklungen hat. Deutlich eingängiger als The Magic Whip, aber kein bisschen Britpop-Nostalgie. Allein „St Charles Square“ hätte eventuell auf dem fünften Album funktioniert. Da gefällt mir die Studio-Version deutlich besser, als das, was ich beim Konzert gehört habe. Die anderen neun Stücke sind wunderschön. Fünf Sterne, ohne wenn und aber.

Nie mehr Zweite Liga!!!Der Klang war mir auch gleich besonders positiv aufgefallen. Dürfte nicht dem Produzenten, also James Ford, sondern demjenigen, der fürs Engineering und Mixing zuständig war, zu verdanken sein, oder? Dazu lassen sich schlecht Infos finden. Brauche ich wohl doch die CD.

Sucht man nach St. Charles Square auf Google, haben die Ergebnisse auf der ersten Seite alle mit Blur zu tun! Ha, erst ganz unten unter Images for St. Charles Square ein sich dort befindliches Gebäude. Die anderen drei Bilder haben auch mit Blur zu tun. Wenn da mal nicht die Immobilienpreise explodieren. Also noch mehr als ohnehin schon. Auch wenn’s da spukt.

Ausgesprochen positive Überraschung. Wird das erste Album seit Blur sein, welches gekauft und behalten wird.Das Album Blur wäre ohne Frage das erste (und einzige), das ich von ihrem Output der 90er Jahre verkaufen würde.

Finde auch, dass es angenehm düster klingt. Noch etwas angenehmere Düsterheit als EBTG sie im Jahre 2023 zelebrieren. The Ballad of Darren habe ich jetzt schon öfter gehört als Fuse, obwohl mir das ja auch gefällt. Damon Albarns Lyrics sind wunderbar vieldeutig. Sie lassen Bilder entstehen, die zwar diffus sind, aber gerade das ist so reizvoll.
Das new logo t-shirt sunset gibt’s immer noch nicht wieder im Store (das blaue auch nicht). Das two cocks t-shirt ist auch sold out. Und der elliptical logo bucket hat. Doof.
