Vielleicht ihre beste Platte!

Fasziniert mich immer noch wegen der rohen Kraft und Intensität und der nach außen gekehrten Seele, die in dieser Musik liegt.
Dieses Gefühl findet seinen Höhepunkt v.a. bei den Liveaufnahmen von „Ball and Chain“ (Winterland San Francisco April 1968, noch besser: Monterey Juni 1967). Habe ich diese Aufnahmen gehört, kann es danach für eine ganze Weile nichts mehr anderes geben (und die Anlage bleibt aus).
Ähnliches empfinde ich sonst nur noch bei den besten Aufnahmen von John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Townes Van Zandt und Nick Drake.
