Das sind mächtig viel Sterne für dieses Album, von dem ich mir mehr versprochen habe.
SugareeMoorer, Allison – Crows ** (bisher die absolute Enttäuschung)
Ich habe auch schon bessere Werke von ihr gehört, aber ** wäre mir hier dagegen deutlich zu mager. Bei mir hat sich das Album mit der Zeit doch noch eingeschmeichelt. Vielleicht wächst es bei Dir ja auch noch ein wenig.

02. Findlay Brown – Love will find youDas verwundert mich denn doch etwas. So gut? Ich werde mit dem Album nicht so richtig warm. Der Vorgänger war/ist bei mir knapp vor ***** aber dieser radikale Stilwechsel auf dem neuen Album ist schon sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Gewinnen ist nicht alles, gewinnen ist das einzige.Natürlich ist es gewöhnungsbedürftig, vor allem, wenn man das Debut so wertschätzt. Wenn man sich jedoch nicht auf die Dualität der beiden Alben fixiert, kommt der Reiz des Zweitwerks m.E. schneller zum Vorschein. In einem Ranking wäre bei mir auch das Debut vorne, aber der Nachfolger als eigenständiges Werk enttäuscht mich nicht. Im Gegenteil. Für mich zeigt der Künstler Mut mit der Ansage, sich zu wandeln und nicht an einen Stil gebunden zu sein. Er zeigt sich versiert und kundig in dem, was er tut und ich empfinde das Album als sehr catchy und angenehm. Ich habe aber auch den naheliegenden Eindruck, dass das Album sehr kontrovers aufgenommen wurde. Mancher hält es für deutlich over the top.

04. The Soft Pack – The Soft Pack
Fein, pipe. Auch die Wertung stimmt. Hast du schon „Hippies“ von Harlem hören können? Ein bisschen Lo-Fi, ein bisschen Krach und catchy hooks aus Texas. Demnächst stehen ja auch noch die neuen Werke von the Hold Steady und the Dead Weather an. Wird ein astreiner Rock-Sommer.

Nope, Harlem sind mir bisher kein Begriff. Aber das lässt sich ja ändern. The Hold Steady stehen recht weit oben auf meiner Liste, The Dead Weather um einiges weiter hinten.
