Adrian Younge, der das Album produziert hat, und der nun nach „12 Reasons To Die“ und „Black Dynamite“ mit „There Is Only Now“ ein weiteres Meisterwerk abgeliefert hat, sagte im Vorfeld: „If somebody misses the sounds of „93 ’til Infinity“ meets The Low End Theory meets De La Soul Is Dead. If somebody misses that kind of sound, they’ll be happy to hear this album because it goes back to that time, you know.“. Das ist ihm gelungen. „93 ‚til Infinity“ ist für mich eines der besten Rap-Alben aller Zeiten, und „There Is Only Now“ knüpft 21 Jahre später nahtlos an „93“ an. XXL beschreibt das hier gut. Ich habe das Album übrigens, wie es sich gehört, am Erscheinungstag vor Ort in Oakland gekauft
