Sonny Clark – Cool Struttin‘ (Blue Note, 1958)
Ein phantastisches Album – und das erste Jazz-Album, das mir hier in den Sinn kommt … hippe Musik für Grossstädter der späten Fünfziger, hip, catchy, nervös pulsierend und cool swingend. Passt zum Manhattan auf der Dachterrasse mit Blick auf den Central Park.
Eine Ergänzung hierzu, weil ich kürzlich wieder daran erinnert wurde: Die Beine gehören Ruth Lion (1923-2011), der Frau von Alfred Lion, dem Produzenten von Blue Note. Sie modelte noch für ein anderes Cover, das hier off topic ist, aber egal:
