Ok just to clarify a little, some of these are louder then previous versions however they are not louder and not brickwalled compared to recent remasters from other bands.
Another point, the sound difference from the main albums like DSOTM, WYWH, Meddle,The Wall, Animals is not that huge a difference from all the various versions already out there. These new ones at least stand toe to toe with the best versions and to me I like the sound of them.
Now when you are talking the lesser known albums like More, Obscured by Clouds, ASFOS, The Studio side of Ummagumma these are light years above previous versions.
Piper is better than the 2007 version but I really really want a version that is a tad warmer, I’d like them to run the master through a tube DAC or something to bring out the warmth that is lacking in all the versions out there.
The great thing about this box set is you buy one box set and you instantly have either the best CD version of the Album or something very very close to it, instead of trying to track down cd’s from different remasters, plant pressings, catalog numbers etc.
