In Billboard, 23 Jun 1973, heisst es, McLean werde im Herbst für Gérard Terrones neues Futura-Label aufnehehmen.

In Jet, 18 Jan 1979, schrieb McLean (Director of Afro-American Music, Hartt College of Music, Hartford, Conn.) einen kurzen Leserbrief, weil Jet in der Nummer vom 23 Nov 1978 ein falsches Bild vewendet hatten (? statt Coleman Hawkins).
In Billboard, 20 Jan 1979 wird vermerkt, dass Melonae, Jackie und Dollies Tochter, als erste schwarze Moderatorin von WKND-FM in Hartford, Conn, angestellt worden ist.
Unter Saturday, June 30 im New York Magazine, 2 Jul 1979, sowie nochmal unter Sunday, July 1 werden McLeans Quartett sowie „Jaki Byard, pianist“ als „New Jazz at the Public Theater, at 8:30 and 11:30“ angekündigt. Die Nummer erschien wohl vor ihrem Erscheinungsdatum? Sonst würde der ganze Veranstaltungskalender dort wenig Sinn machen…
