Signature Song stimmt hier nur bedingt. DON’T MESS WITH MR. T. ist von der gleichnamigen 1973er (?) LP, wobei sich das „MR.T.“ eigentlich nicht auf Turrentine bezieht. Die Originalkomposition stammt von dem Blaxploitation-Soundtrack TROUBLE MAN von Marvin Gaye. ST macht da was sehr schönes und auch eigenes raus und irgendwie passt es auch, dass er ein Soulstück covert. Er ist ja fast ein Soulsänger auf dem Saxophon.
Stanley Turrentines weitaus größerer Hit war aber eher SUGAR von der (ebenfalls) gleichnamigen LP. Gelegentlich wird ST auch mal der SUGARMAN genannt.
