Wie neuartig Bill Evans programmatische New Jazz Conceptions 1957 tatsächlich geklungen haben, ist heute wohl kaum noch nachvollziehbar. Auch wenn er den Blues hier aus dem Jazz wegzulassen scheint, klingt er hier dennoch vergleichsweise zupackend. Ganz ent-zück-end ist die gerade mal knapp eineinhalb Minuten lange, unbegleitete erste Aufnahme von Waltz For Debby.
