„Transition“ nicht übersehen – und die Quartett-Tracks auf „Selflessness“ und wo immer sie verstreut waren!
Das gedokterte Album habe ich grad erhalten (es liegt jetzt in der Originals Reihe auf CD vor), aber noch nicht übers Herz gebracht, reinzuhören…
Nach der „Ascension“-Session Ende Juni folgte der Gig in Newport, dann eine Europa-Tour, während der auch die eine integrale Live-Präsentation von „A Love Supreme“ in Antibes stattfand.
Im August und September fanden dann die letzten Studio-Sessions des Quartetts statt – bereits frei, aber absolut in Form. „Sun Ship“ ist für mich eins der allerschönsten, liebsten Coltrane-Alben, „First Meditations“ steht zwar im Schatten des unglaublich starken „Meditations“, ist aber auch so übel nicht
