despite our sad lack of postings of late, we actually have been relatively busy– first and foremost, after a couple weeks at dave fridmann's studio out in the middle of the woods, we completed our new record. i don't want to go overboard, here, but we are extremely excited with the results. making this record was a pretty amazing experience for us, and mr. fridmann did a great job helping us get it right. it's tentatively called „the great destroyer“, and will be hitting the world at large very early in 2005.
which leads us to the other big news. this new record will be on sub pop. (some of the more computer-savvy of you may already know this; i would've written an announcement earlier, but i can barely operate my email, so….). we have had a fantastic run with our friends at kranky; they operate with a level of integrity and honesty that would make 95% of the labels in the world reel with shame. with that said, i'll also say that we're very happy (and again, excited) to be working with sub pop on this new record, and theyre excited to be working with us. so there you go.
