The single used to be a mighty promotion tool – it promotes and introduces new songs and acts. The EP (extended play) was even better – with more songs (as many as five tracks as opposed to the two on the single), it’s certainly value for money. Well, here’s our take on the EP as we roll off our own EP programme with Lowell George (also of Little Feat) in the studio in 1974.
With guitar in hand and joined by friends, who include Linda Ronstadt, Lowell George breezes through his set like the veteran sea dog he was. Gritty would be the word to remember George by – the guitarist/songwriter died of a heart attack while on the road in 1979.
