Heute vor 40 Jahren starb John Coltrane im Alter von 40 Jahren. Im Mai diesen Jahres wurde ihm der Pulitzer Preis verliehen. Die Begründung für den Special Award: „A posthumous special citation for his masterful improvisation, supreme musicianship and iconic centrality to the history of jazz.“
