OASIS‘ one-time mentor ALAN MCGEE has given NOEL GALLAGHER’s new music a big thumbs up, insisting the singer/songwriter has created some of his best material since quitting the band.

The former Creation Records boss, who signed Oasis in the early 1990s, has heard Gallagher’s new solo material and he reveals it’s full of hits that conjure up memories of Oasis at their best.

MCGee says, „It’s amazing… It’s stripped down. (There) are three massive tunes like (hits) Don’t Look Back in Anger, Live Forever… I would say it’s probably his best record since (album) Morning Glory.“

And the retired music mogul admits he misses the Oasis leader: „Noel is one of the good guys… He’s a f**king gent.“

MCGee also hopes the Gallagher brothers will eventually patch up their differences and regroup.

He adds, „It’s a pity they fell out so bad, but I’m sure they can make up at some time.“
