I just compared the Rhino „Golden Road“ box CD of Live/Dead to the MOFI vinyl release. I listened to Dark Star simultaneously all the way through while switching back and forth. They are the same mix.
Looks like the WB vinyl is still the only way to get a good sounding copy of the original mix.
I will admit that the MOFI vinyl sounds excellent on my system. More dynamic than the CD. More bass too. Not too much on my system, but I could see how it might be too bass heavy on some systems. My system errs a little on the bright side.
