Es gibt ja solch Unternehmungen wie „Der gesamte Shakespeare in 90 Minuten“. Das hat sicher vor allem humoristische Qualitäten. Bill Laswell versucht sich auf Panthalassa in „The complete Electric Miles in 60 minutes“. Tracks von In A Silent Way, On The Corner und Get Up With It + bis dahin unveröffentlichtes in einem durchgehenden Mix – und Laswell hat Erfolg damit!
Natürlich ist das alles andere als komplett und das ist auch keineswegs Laswells Ambition. Aber es klingt tatsächlich wie ein Querschnitt von Miles 1969-74 und funktioniert – so unwahrscheinlich es klingt – als fast eigenständiges und gut zu hörendes Album mit kontinuierlichem Fluss.
