Wunderbare Platte. Für mich auf jeden Fall die schönste Einspielung der dritten Messengers Formation. Auf ähnlich hohen Niveau sind für mich die Platten der ersten Messenger Formation mit Horace Silver, die 1954 im Birdland entstanden (A Night At Birdland Vol. 1 & 2) und Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers With Thelonious Monk von 1957.
Aber keine andere Platte war so wegweisend für den hard bop, wie Moanin', so daß ich dougsahm mit seiner klaren Aussage recht gebe.
