„The Blues And The Abstract Truth“ finde ich bis heute sehr seltsam. Die Zusammenstellung der Musiker ist doch etwas unpassend. Roy Haynes und Bill Evans sind schon ein starker Gegensatz. Hubbard spielt, wie so oft, nur routiniert. Dolphys Spiel ist toll, keine Frage. Aber auch die Kompositionen sind mir fremd, wirken arg rational.
