Mule-A-Go-Go – New Year’s Eve Run Night 3
New Years Eve! There’s always that special twinkle in the air, and tonight was no exception. The first set could have been a second set to pretty much any show. Warren’s solo during „About To Rage“ burnt the faces off the crowd, and the „Loser“ / „Terrapin“ sandwich sent them spinning into the aisles. Then, Danny stepped out from behind his keys, and blew the roof off of Aerosmith’s classic „Train Kept a Rollin‘.“ The 2nd set opened with…… the stage being modeled after the set of the classic 60’s TV show, „The Beat“ complete with 2 Go-Go dancers, and a horn section! Wow! In the words of Jimmy Vivino, this is „Gov’t Mule’s Rhythm & Blues & Soul Power Review!“ You have to see and hear the setlist to believe it…it’s a must listen for any serious Soul/R&B fan, Mule fan, James Brown fan, Otis Redding fan, Blues Brother fan, Conan O’Brien fan, you name it…. The New Years countdown went off flawlessly and was accented by about a million balloons getting dropped from the ceiling complete with confetti and kisses! After the craziness of that set was over, the Mule came out with a THIRD set of more classic Mule which had the energy of a whole show crammed into it. Seriously, weighing in at over 3 hours and 30 minutes of music, this is a show that will never be forgotten by those in attendance, and makes ’06 look very promising for Mule fans everywhere!
