Das Album, das ich 2025 am häufigsten gehört habe, ist “After the Last Sky” des Quartetts von Anour Brahem. Die wichtigste Entdeckung des vergangenen Jahres im Bereich Jazz war für mich jedoch der französische Akkordeonist Vincent Peirani, der beim Label ACT zunächst die Single “Physical Attraction” und danach sein viertes “Living Being”-Album herausgebracht hat. Beim anschließenden Durchforsten seines Backkatalogs ist mir dann noch der Sopransaxofonist Emile Parisien aufgefallen. Ebenfalls bei ACT überzeugte das Trio-Album der Keyboarderin Sharon Mansur, die früher eine Weile mit Orphaned-Land auf Tour war. Weitere interessante Entdeckungen für mich waren u.a. die Fusion-Bands GoGo Penguin und Kneebody. Oft genug gehört, um sie zu ranken, habe ich folgende gute vier Dutzend Neuerscheinungen.
