Ist doch auch ein sehr gutes Comeback Album geworden (von Pulp). Genauso wie das von Stereolab. Suede war nie so meins. Kein „Rainy Sunday Afternoon“. Wundert mich etwas. Hätte ich gerade in diesen beiden Listen vermutet.

Ich wette keins dieser Alben hat so eine tolle Percussion wie das der Mountain Goats oder von Hotel Rimini.

Weiß gar nicht mehr, ob ich das Album von Pulp gehört habe.

Mountain Goats hätte man zumindest bei Uncut auch erwarten können. Hotel Rimini eher nicht. Von Mountain Goats gab es aber auch schon bessere Alben, finde ich.

Through This Fire ist zumindest ein Mountain-Goats-Album, das nicht sofort (ge)zündet (hat bei mir). Da verbirgt sich ganz viel in der Meerestiefe. Wird erst nach und nach zu Tage befördert. Ganz viele neue Klänge, ganz viel neuer Witz. Bleibt mir bei Pulp bisher verborgen. (Hab’s aber vorhin auch erst einmal gehört und habe es ohnehin nie geschafft, eins ihrer Alben ins Herz zu schließen.)

Mag sein, dass Dark in Here, Getting Into Knives, In League With Dragons, Goths und/oder Transcendental Youth noch ein kleines bisschen besser sind. Aber wahrscheinlich sind sie eher auf einem Level.

Vielleicht sollte ich auch hinzufügen, dass ich dieses Jahr nicht so viele neue Alben gehört habe und mir eine Bewertung der Listen eigentlich gar nicht zusteht. Ist bestimmt viel Interessantes dabei; die meisten Namen sagen mir durchaus etwas.

@firecracker :  die frühen Mountain Goats Alben mochte ich noch ganz gern. Aber nach „Sunset Tree“ hat mich tatsächlich keines ihrer Alben gecatcht. Und das ist schon 20 Jahre her. Oh je. Die neue Platte packt mich auch überhaupt nicht. Auch nach mehreren Durchgângen vermag ich mir das nicht schön zu hören   Liegt sicherlich an mir.
