friedrich Wenn R,R & C deine zweitliebste VÖ von TRTS ist, was ist denn deine erstliebste? Auf Deine Eindrücke von Touch bin ich gespannt.

R,R & C habe ich gestern Abend auch mal wieder aufgelegt, um meine Wertschätzung zu überprüfen, nachdem ich beim Lesen der Stimmen zu A Lazarus Taxon auf RYM den Tenor wahrgenommen hatte, it’s two CDs full of great songs that flow well together and a third CD you will never listen to, and a DVD you will never watch.
Ich fand es hingegen wieder großartig. Und gleichwohl jeder Track auf R,R & C (sind ja alles Remixe von Tracks des Debütalbums) von jemand anderem geremixt wurde, ergibt sich ein unglaublicher Flow, als wäre es ein zusammenhängendes Set:
„Alcohall“ – John McEntire remix of „On Noble“
„Your New Rod“ – Rick Brown remix of „Flyrod“
„Cobwebbed“ – Casey Rice remix of „Spiderwebbed“
„The Match Incident“ – Steve Albini remix of „Ry Cooder“
„Tin Can Puerto Rican Remix“ – Brad Wood remix of „Tin Cans and Twine“
„Not Quite East of the Ryan“ – Bundy K. Brown remix of „Spiderwebbed“ plus parts of other tracks
„Initial Gesture Protraction“ – Jim O’Rourke remix of „His Second Story Island“
„Cornpone Brunch“ – Remix von Mike Watt of „Cornpone Brunch“ [erst beim Reissue von 2022 auf Vinyl inkludiert]
Einzig Jim O’Rourke schafft es nicht so richtig, meine Erwartungen zu erfüllen.
Beacons of Ancestorship + The Catastrophist habe ich übrigens aus ähnlichen Erwägungen wie Du heute damals ausgelassen. Beide Alben hatten mich bei Erscheinen nicht überzeugen können. Und man kann und will auch nicht bei jeder Band, bei jedem Künstler Komplettist sein.
