„While living in London I had an apartment with a small garden. During the summer around 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning, just as the day began, birds would gather here oneby one and sing together, each declairing its freedom in song. It is my wish to share this same sprirt with other musicians and communicate it to the people“. Das zumindest ist erfüllt: eine besondere Zusammenkunft und kollektives Spiel sehr spezieller „Vögel“ die uns auf sehr beeindruckende Weise zeigen inwiefern man die freie Form im Jazz weiter spinnt. Und „Conference Of The Birds“ bleibt auch immer ein zugängliches Werk, durchwebt von wunderschönen und zarten Melodien, die auch schnell wieder „zerstört“ werden nur um wieder neu „eingeschmolzen“ zu werden.
