To determine the total number of tracks released by The Coral as of April 2, 2025, we need to consider their discography, which includes studio albums, singles, EPs, and compilation albums. Based on available information, here’s a breakdown:
Studio Albums: The Coral have released 12 studio albums. While exact track counts for each album can vary slightly depending on editions (e.g., bonus tracks), a typical album has around 10–12 tracks. For a conservative estimate, let’s assume an average of 11 tracks per album:
12 albums × 11 tracks = 132 tracks.Singles: They’ve released 18 singles. Many singles include A-sides already on albums, but some have unique B-sides. Estimating conservatively, if half of the singles (9) include a unique B-side not on an album, that adds approximately 9 additional tracks.
EPs: Four EPs have been released. EPs typically contain 3–6 tracks. Assuming an average of 4 tracks per EP:
4 EPs × 4 tracks = 16 tracks. Some of these may overlap with singles or albums, but let’s include them for now.Compilation Albums: One compilation album, Singles Collection (2008), exists, featuring 1 new track („Being Somebody Else“) alongside previously released singles. This adds 1 unique track, as most others are duplicates.
Adding these together:
Studio albums: 132 tracksUnique single B-sides: ~9 tracks
EPs: 16 tracks
Compilation: 1 track
Total = 132 + 9 + 16 + 1 = 158 tracks
However, this total likely includes some overlap (e.g., EP tracks later included on albums or singles). Without a track-by-track discography to eliminate duplicates precisely, a reasonable adjustment is needed. Cross-referencing suggests that EPs like The Oldest Path and Skeleton Key have tracks that sometimes reappear, and many singles are album cuts. Reducing the total by an estimated 10–15 tracks for overlap, we arrive at approximately 143–148 unique tracks.
Given the continuous updates to my knowledge and the date of April 2, 2025, this accounts for their output up to their latest releases, including Sea of Mirrors and Holy Joe’s Coral Island Medicine Show (both 2023). No major releases are noted for 2024 or early 2025.
Thus, as of now, The Coral have released roughly 145 tracks, give or take a few depending on exact overlaps and any minor releases not widely documented by this date.
