Die Konzertpause (Schostakowitsch-Zyklus mit dem Jerusalem Quartet, gestern und heute die ersten neun, im November dann der Rest) reicht für etwas Free Jazz … zum Geschäftsmodell der frz. Label damals äusserte sich einer Noah Howard mal in The Wire (Jan 2006, S. 26-33, Interview mit/Text von Phil Freeman und ein paar tollen Fotos). Auf die Frage, warum er denn bei all den Aktivitäten um BYG usw. kein Album gemacht habe: „The problem was, […] I negotiated with all of them that we’d come in, play the festival [das legendäre Festival in Amougies, an der belgischen Grenze] and do two record deals, one for me and one for Frank [Wright]. So they did the Frank thing first and they didn’t pay him.“ Howard erzählt noch viel mehr, u.a. zu „Uhura Na Umoja“ von Wright, was eigentlich ein Howard-Album ist (er hat z.B. Art Taylor angefragt): „It’s got Frank’s name, but that’s my session. I did two sessions, Uhura and Space Dimension. I wrote all the songs.“
