Das war seinerzeit über seine Platte „Return Of A Legend“, als ich diesbezüglich Kontakt zu Evidence Records hatte. Von dort teilte man mir Jody’s Adresse mit, und so ergab sich der Kontakt letztendlich…
Hier noch eine kleine Geschichte, wie Jody einst B.B.King kennen lernte:
„I liked playing with Howlin‘ Wolf, he someday introduced me to B.B.King. I heard of him, but never met him. I remember a guy always looking at my fingers while playing in the studio.
So I turned my chair around so that he couldn’t see my fingers play on the keyboard. Later the Wolf asked me to introduce a good friend of him, and it was B.B., the guy looking at my fingers. He and T-Bone Walker were idols of mine that time. The same day we did a session together, it was on a record of Otis Spann, those were „Five Spot“ and „It Must Have Been The Devil“. You can hear both of us playing together. During that time Otis and I lived together.“
