Following a very brief pause during which their lead singer Grian Chatten released a predictably great solo album in 2023, the industrious Dublin post-punks Fontaines D.C. are back with their fourth studio album. Everything appealing about the group’s sound, from Chatten’s elliptical and poetic lyrics to the taut and stylish post-punk execution of the music, are present and correct on Romance, which will doubtless fuel the Fontaines’ continued success.
