RAYE – My 21st Century Blues

RAYE  – My 21st Century Blues (2023)

It’s an extraordinary performance in the centre of a very brave, strong record. Hats off, Raye. These blues are smoking hot.

Raye review, My 21st Century Blues: Polydor will be kicking themselves after hearing this exceptional debut – After six tumultuous years under Polydor Records, Rachel Keen is an independent artist – and her first record screams cathartic release

Die Enländer feiern Raye’s Debut. Schlecht ist es tatsächlich nicht. Neo-Soul oder moderne Pop-Musik.

Raye, Tired of Music’s Waiting Game, Releases an Album at Last The British musician spent years writing for other artists, eventually sharing her frustrations online. After speaking her truths about the industry, she shares personal revelations on her debut. (Nerw York Times)

For Raye, creative control was the key to continuing in an industry that had nearly broken her down. “I’m not interested in being a ‘singles’ girl, it’s the last thing I ever wanted to be,” she said. For her, the album format is not about “selling records” but telling stories.

Interessant.

Escapism (live at Metropolis Studios)

Ice Cream Man (Live at BBC Radio 1)

Worth It
