Ja, das wirkt schon wie ein ziemlich hilfloser Move.
Edit:
The discussion of taking one’s music off @Spotify might also be a nice moment for artists to think about who has the rights to distribute their music. It’s not just streaming giants exploiting musicians – labels of all sizes can be vultures too.

The only thing stopping small artists leaving @Spotify is the fear of losing visibility and being left behind. The simple solution is that we ALL have to leave, and then our audience will too. Fuck, I wish that was actually feasible… it would feel amazing.

The crazy thing is that the online infrastructure to earn a living from recorded music already exists and works. I survived 2 years without gigs thanks to @Bandcamp – and that’s through about 500 fans vs 30k listeners on @Spotify

€10 spent on @Bandcamp = about €8.30 to the artist/label
€10 spent on a @Spotify subscription = maybe a couple of cents to the artists/labels (Apple Music and Tidal are the better of those evils, paying marginally more per stream)— Zanias (@Zanias__) January 31, 2022
