Bei mir nochmal was aus der Cirillo/Mingus-Ecke, die sich hier auch noch mit der Tristano-Ecke kreuzt: J.J. Johnson/Kai Winding 1954 auf Savoy, die eine Session ist mit Cirillo/Mingus/Kenny Clarke, die andere mit Billy Bauer/Mingsu/Clarke, dann gibt es noch Füllsel von 1947 (Johnson mit Leo Parker und Hank Jones) und 1952 (Winding mit Lou Stein).

Das hätte auch bestens in eine Mingus-Session gepasst … was ist das für ein Stück? Auf meiner CD steht Johnsons Name dahinter, kann aber sehr gut ein Fehler sein, denn der steht überall ausser bei „What Is This Thing Called Love“, also auch bei „I Could Write a Book“, „The Boy Next Door“ und „Carioca“ – soviel zur Denon/Savoy-Qualitätskontrolle … hat ja Geschichte.
In der BMI-Datenbank taucht unter Mingus ein „Reflections“ auf (#1238753).
