„George Jones salutes Hank Williams“ ist tatsächlich das einzige, was ich bisher von GJ habe. Ist von 1960 oder so; noch ziemlich nahe an Hank dran und weit weg vom polierten „Countrypolitan“-Sound der 70er. Feine Platte, wenn auch arg kurz. Meine Highlights: „There ‚ll be no teardrops tonight“, „I can’t help it if I’m still in love with you“ und „Howling at the Moon“.
Ich werd mich wohl auch an die Mercury-Aufnahmen aus den 60ern halten. (Edit: 1955 – 1961)
